BACKGROUND /ESTABLISHMENT
In July 2012 a few families that live in the Riverside area met and decided to gather and praise God once a month. They continued to meet once a month at a member’s home and subsequently named their gathering after our Saint Abuna Teklehaimanot. In February 2017, Abune Theophilus and many church fathers gathered to bless our church and announced the Church’s name as Mekane Qidusan Abune Teklehaimanot EOT Church. In March 2017, the church applied and was certified as a church by the state of California. From April 2017 to July 2019 the church members gathered and practiced monthly prayer at St Andrew Orthodox Church with the help of St. Andrew Church
Starting August 2019, the church offers weekly service at 950 Spruce St. Riverside, 92507

To maintain the belief and tenets of the Ethiopian Orthodox faithful who live in north America,particularly in Southern California, and the Inland Empire Area; to evangelize the new generation born in this country; and to promote and enhance the Mission and Outreach of the Church to all wish to be enlightened; to sustain, develop and deliver an effective and far-reaching educational system for all ages and levels, which reflects the apostolic teaching and the Patristic traditions of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church.

To be humble and hard-working example of service to the community which fosters love and unity the desire to cherish Ethiopian culture, traditions and beliefs, and the rapid influence of culture and modernity in the United States; and to turn the hearts and minds of all to the loving mercy of the Almighty GOD through daily prayer and worship according to the liturgy of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church.
